(EO3) Introduction to Energetic Material Qualification

This short course provides an introduction to the various aspects related to the Qualification of Energetic Materials within ADF Explosive Ordnance.

Introduction:

Energetic Material Qualification (EMQ) is a prescribed requirement within the ADF EO Safety Program (DEOP 100). This short course provides an introduction to the various aspects related to EMQ. The course will enable students to gain an understanding of the key requirements, highlight some common mis-conceptions / misunderstandings, as well as have the opportunity to quiz the instructor regarding specific examples/issues that have been encountered during attempts to satisfy ADF EMQ Requirements.
 

Target Audience:

All Explosive Ordnance (EO) Engineers within Explosives Materiel Branch (EMB). All engineering personnel that undertake review and/or assessment of EO Safety Cases. This course will also provide useful background information to industry personnel/suppliers of EO items to EMB

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the importance of Qualification
  • Understanding the EO Safety Prescribed Requirements related to EMQ (EO Regulation 5.4 – Energetic Material Qualification)
  • Understanding of how EMQ is achieved

Face to Face presentations by Subject Matter Experts.
